Clan Cunningham!

Next up from Old John's latest box are these 12 plastic Scots Mercenaries by Marsfigures. I think it is the first time that I have come across figures with a tartan pattern etched into them which really helps in giving a guide where to paint the checks. John sent me a pattern sample and requested Cunningham tartan (john's surname) so no doubt John is featured among the Clan figures, a most savage and hairy bunch of characters indeed! Suitable for the 30yrs War, ECW, Jacobite Rebellion etc.

12 figures painted yesterday whilst listening to the Post Office Enquiry evidence session. Just need varnishing.

  1. Seems like those Highlanders were destined to be Cunninghams given the box art.

  2. They are lovely figures, but never heard of Marsfigures.

It must be a sign of advancing years. I happily remember the early days when there were so few manufacturers that everyone rejoiced when a new figure came on the market. Remember the excitement when Airfix brought out their French Napoleonic Infantry?

We really are spoiled these days for such a comprehensive and wide ranging selection of commercial. But it is a shame that today's wargamers will never know the satisfaction of converting an Airfix British hussar to a French hussar. Simple times, simple joys.

Now I must find out what else is available in Marsfigures

    Regards

    Paul

  3. Lovely stuff Lee πŸ‘πŸ‘ You did well to paint whilst listening to the Post Office enquiry evidence - because it just makes me steaming mad. How these senior managers imagine they rightfully earned their (obscenely large) salaries is beyond me. They now expect us to believe they “didn’t know what was going on” (on their watch) and that, perhaps, they didn’t “ask the right questions” is beyond me. Of course, I suspect any compensation paid to the Postmasters will simply, at the end of the day, be funded by an increase in the cost of a stamp… 🀬
