More ACW's photos for Old John!

Really enjoyed painting these. Following on from the Reb Generals box set here is the Union Personalities box set, the 4 wonderful old Airfix US Cavalry, 10 Union Infantry ( ?) and 4 Russian Falconers. This is the March batch for John. Just waiting for a new varnish brush to arrive and to see what John wants me to do with the card bases with the names on.

Union Personality box set 35 figures.

Spot Custer and Abraham Lincoln!

Oh the nostalgia, takes me right back to childhood!

Epic ACW/ Battle Cry next, coming along, added a few more bases and started adding flags. Went with the Epic flagsheet as the poles are a bit short but they look OK. Also adding additional command by trimming away muskets and using dress makers pins for poles and officers sword across shoulder. All Union strips cut down to kepis.

  1. A good week. Lovely to see the Airfix …….. but then my mind was immediately transported back to. The nightmare of trying to get horses attached and stay attached to their base :-) perhaps I just had poor glue, but often I would push a dress makers pin up through the base and into the belly of the poor horse (or camel!) :-)

    1. The holes in the bases were bunged up with some kind of old glue so I drilled them all out and gave everything a good clean up before using gel super glue to fix everything. The rearing horse is indeed a bit bendy in the legs so will require careful packaging and handling.

  2. You’re certainly keeping up the pace with your painting Lee. Copious numbers painted and to a very high standard 👏👏

  3. Hi Lee,
I've just spied your channel on YouTube and I think your work is absoloutly beautiful ! ! !
I'm not too computer literate due to the fact the day computer monitors where being delivered to my high school I was actually leaving that very same day. I thought they were getting TV's in the classrooms and was quite peaved about it 😆...
Anyhow I've tracked you this distance so far, but I can't seem to find your price list anywhere. Is there any chance you could forward me a copy for me to have a browse over please ?
My name's Gary, I live in Northern Ireland, I'm 58 and I've been into collecting and wargaming miniatures since I was around 12 - 13 year old.
I'm not too sure how busy you are at the moment but I'm only looking for a regiment of 30 years war Swedish cavalry by Warlord Epic figures, so not too big an ordeal for you really judging by the commissions I've seen you do. Totally unbelievable work indeed my friend, its a credit to you Lee !
Well I hope I've not bored you to tears my friend but I do look forward to your list and maybe getting squeezed in somewhere for my regiment ?

Hope to hear from you soon Lee and my kindest regards...

    Take care,
    Gary

    1. Hello Gary and many thanks for your kind words :)

My price list is linked above under the 'Advance the Colours' tab, a bit of a corny name for my painting service I know :) My 5 current regular (long term) customers keep me busy with rolling commissions but I can usually fill in with smaller jobs such as individual units etc. As you will have seen I'm engaged on a large project of Epic P&S ECW's with 20 regiments of foot painted so far and about to start on the cavalry next. My charge is £9 for a strip of 10 infantry (£72.00 for a full regiment) or £3.50 each for cavalry. I hope this helps you and if you need any further information please contact me.

      All the very best,

      Lee.
