A nice little batch of 34 figures painted this last week for Tony. Blue appears a bit lighter here than in the flesh due to my choice of 'blue' LCD's I think. They have all just had a thin coat of Vallejo Satin varnish (still drying) to protect them when packed but Tony does intend to give them further coats of his varnish as they will be based individually. Figures are 20mm but not sure of maker?
Thank you Tony, enjoyed painting these.
Now it's back to more WoR for Noel this week.

Very nicely done, they look great, they are very nice figures too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Donnie, they are indeed nice little castings to paint.

Lee.
I like the satin varnish, it helps make them very eye catching.
ReplyDeleteI do like Satin varnish Norm as you know :)

Looking very good Lee - a welcome addition to my siege set-up. Castings? - a mixture; quite a few SHQ Kensington Spanish Artillery, also figures by Hagen and Falcata, and some converted French pontinières who might be from the old Finescale Factory. Basically a box of oddments and loose change - thank you for adding the magic...
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure Tony, these were a joy to paint as such nice fine sculpts and castings.

Lee
Splendid work as always!

Nice work, Lee.
ReplyDeleteLoverly again Lee. We look forward to seeing them in action in Tony's coming 'onslaught' on siege warfare. I loved the fellow in the last pic. who is showing off his biceps. Which make is he Tony?
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, James
Many thanks James, they were fun to paint as so varied.

Lee.
James - in a former packet these guys were (I'm pretty sure) from a crew of French pontonniers - slightly confusing because I have officers for them who are clearly Franznap (and even more obviously wearing French uniforms), but I think the general labourer-types were from the long-defunct Finescale-Factory, which sort of evolved into Hagen, though their guns and Napoleonic vehicles were available for a while in the UK from SHQ. The onslaught on siege rules has been interrupted by an enforced holiday - the eyes have it. I'll be back - I need to try a little gentle solo gaming first, to see if I can handle the stress...
DeleteBiceps man will be tamping down a trench parapet or something equally military.
