Very much enjoying my painting right now. The freedom to just paint single bases for my DBN/C&C collections is liberating and allows for some diversity whilst working in Johns wonderful WSS 20mm figures. This last weeks output has been four more 18mm bases of AB's and 4 cavalry and 4 infantry for John (Papal State infantry Les Higgins & Austrian Cuirassiers, but I'm sure John will provide full details on make of figures etc).
I had the French Guard Lancers in the drawer for just a couple of weeks and simply could not resist painting them, and as I begin to gradually branch out towards campaigns beyond the Peninsular I have plans for the Imperial Guard in full. Also added another base of French cuirassiers (in blue coats) and another base of British Guard infantry. Next up are some WSS artillery for John and a base of Marines of the Guard (AB) for myself.
As usual, plenty of pics!
Superb brushwork, as usual, Lee! Love the blue of the Papal infantry.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jonathan, I really enjoyed painting the Papal command group, John provides full colour references for everything which makes painting them straight forward.
DeleteThe 18’s are exceptional
ReplyDeleteCheers Norm. The AB's are a delight to paint. I keep looking at the ACW range, still looks superb!

Thank you Iain, I appreciate your supportive comments, it helps keep up the motivation!
ReplyDeleteLee, I believe this is the first post featuring some of your re-based trees on what appear to be 50mm round bases. I don't think you showed the process anywhere in doing this. For instance, did the S&A trees simply detach (via pins) from their original flocked single bases? Did these then get pinned and glued to the 50mm bases and then re-flocked and textured? I'm interested to know how you went about this, and also why you opted for the paired tree bases in the first place.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Paul
