Imperial Guard for DBN.........

Every one an AB figure representing the Old Guard & Young Guard plus light and heavy cavalry and Guard Foot artillery (2nd gun and crew on the painting desk). Not present in the Peninsular of course so this is a nod towards the 100 days to come in the future. The bases represent numerous regiments, for the Old Guard 1st and 2nd Grenadiers, Chasseurs & Marins. For the Young Guard are Tirailleurs-Grenadiers, Conscrits-Grenadiers, Tirailleurs & The Voltigeurs all featuring their colourful unofficial fanions as they were not issued Eagles.

I must credit the following blog which was my main source of refence for these figures:

  1. I certainly hope they fight as well as they look! Such a high point value in DBN and devastating loss value if destroyed, but they are tough. Goodness I am eager to be able to meet in public and play games again!

    1. Thank you David. Prussians are next up, I like being able to paint small armies for DBN. Hard to believe that I attended a wargame show last February and was so looking forward to attending more.

  2. Very impressive Lee. When I was collecting my Napoleonics I was determined to have figures representing every unit they had possessed. Can I suggest a battalion of Flankers and the Velites of Turin to add even more flavour. Oh and you could always throw in the Polish foot guards which were destroyed soon after forming at Leipzig. Get yourself a copy of Anatomy of Glory by Commandant Lacheque, sadly its a cheap book to buy nowadays but will inspire you even more. So well done.

    1. Cheers Ian. It's one advantage of DBN that you get to paint small numbers of many different types of figures, really suits me. That said I'm doubling everything up for use with C&C too.

  8. Nice job as ever and don’t be so quick to write them off in the Peninsula, there were some Garde units employed.

    1. Thanks Rob, I must check my facts :) The Waterloo campaign keeps calling me and I keep looking through the AB figures lists, but I will be disciplined and paint the Prussians first.
