I still need to add her pennants, but she's fully rigged and I have added the towed boat. I also need some gloss varnish for the sea base. I feel a tremendous sense of achievement for a first attempt and obviously learned a few tips for vessel number two. Just looking at the amount of rigging lines a round her bowsprit I still don't know how I managed it!
Looks great and I notice you added a little ships boat being towed along behind which they did do in battle which IIRC would of been full of furniture from the ship. Its pity you can't stack it with 1/1200th furniture.
ReplyDeleteDo you intend to game with the models?
Cheers
Richard
Superb - well done....
ReplyDeleteLooking good! I like the way you got the colours on the ocean to add depth to the waves.
ReplyDeleteThat's just plain pretty.

Magnificent Lee. The towed dingy is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for the comments, much appreciated. She took hours of work, probably a couple of battalions worth of time!can't yet seem to going on the second ship - in theory it should be easier as its a much larger 74gun and I have been since been given some good rigging tips.
ReplyDeleteRichard, yes, down the line I hope to try 'Action Under Sail', but it's going to take me a few months to get there I think. Nice image about the Captains Furniture, I remember seeing something about that.
Cheers all.
Lee.
Please excuse my typos above :-)
