More for my C&CN 1 figure per block project.

I'm at the stage now where I can indulge in painting some of the more unusual uniforms for my French and British/Allied armies. Last week or so I have added Nassau infantry, Dutch infantry plus commander, Young Guard and French Heavy cavalry Carabiniers. All are finished in a nice heavy gloss varnish for handling as individual figures. I even have a unit of Mameluks (Guard Light Cavalry) primed for painting because I have always wanted to paint some!

My approach to this game is simple and whilst I am building towards playing the Waterloo scenario in June my main aim is to be able to play quick games selecting 12 unit armies per side with 6 command cards each, dicing for who deploys first on a pre laid out terrain board and then the other side deploys and takes first move, playing to a 50% (6 unit) win. I think this should keep me very happy playing solo although I have an opponent in mind for Waterloo. The entire set up is looking very nice now with the glossy figures and the rich green of the printed mat and the tiles. I'll grab a few photos later today when I'm set up for a game.

Oh, and I have abandoned the idea of adding magnets as being too fiddly and not really necessary.

Meantime I'm also painting more Wars of The Roses 15mm Peter Pigs for Noel, starting on the third 'Faction' these being Green and Yellow themed.

Finally, those pesky resin gliders have had decals added as the finishing touch, I  did not realise when ordering from eBay that they were shipping from CHINA, but they arrived within 3 weeks and are of good quality, easy to apply.
