I was delivered into this world in the upstairs front bedroom of my Nan and Grandfathers lovely Victorian house in SE London. Thanks to Google Earth I am able to revisit and take another look, of course today it's no longer in the family and worth an absolute fortune :) My memories are of having the run of the place and the large garden where my Grandfather grew fruit trees and vegetables. He later bought me my first very first box of plastic soldiers.

Happy Birthday Lee! I find it quite comforting knowing exactly where I was born (also in the front room of a London house). It seems that home births are a rarity now!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for your birthday. I reckon that first box of soldiers pressed all the right buttons for a lifelong hobby.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!

ReplyDeleteAnd a joyeux anniversaire from la belle France too!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, lovely looking house and good on your grandfather for starting you off on the road.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, I was born in an upstairs back room of an Edwardian terrace in Hornsey North London, seems very old fashioned now!
