Back to more 15mm's for the week ahead.

With two packages ready to go tomorrow - one for John and 48 ECW horse for Graham - I'm going to turn my attention this week to 37 x 15mm Prussian infantry for the Jolly Broom Man! These are intended for his Victorian Sci-Fi project and are really nice little castings. One unit of 12 are wearing gasmasks and all arrived ready based and undercoated so no prepping required.

I also have 3 more regiments of foot for Graham in the pipeline, one has been finished and flagged as the Kings Lifeguard as requested.

Those Kings Lifeguard look good. The 15mm Prussians are very tasty and I’m looking forward to seeing what they’re like when you’re finished.

    1. Thanks Graham :) The Prussians are quite chunky but have loads of detail. Glad you like the Kings Lifeguard, tried to give them a bit of extra lift as they are a bit special. Back in my Sealed Knot days they were a huge regiment and I have fond memories of being crushed and stamped on by them in a push of pike :)

  3. The inking on the ECW give a lovely warm effect, is that your ‘usual recipe’?

    1. Hi Norm, thank you. There is actually no ink used there, what you see there is actually cavalry brown (perfect red base with great coverage over black), then highlighted with aramanth red which is quite a strong contrast but seems to be quite effective. I would normally go cavalry brown, flat red then aramanth. I know we have discussed the cavalry brown before Norm and it is a very useful colour and almost paste like in consistency. The white at the cuffs is a touch artistic license, don't know what colour the Kings Guard coats were lined with but in the Knot it was common to fold back the shirt sleeves over the cuffs to give that kind of effect. I could have made a tent out of the generously cut calico shirt :)

    2. Cheers Norm. I have blue and green regiments to do next and I'm going to try this type of stronger contrast on the highlights, also I think the satin varnish helps.
