Project ECW is done & now up for sale!

A bit of a shock maybe or just what I have been doing here for over 10 years? I have really enjoyed the challenge of putting this project together, very happy how it turned out but once again can find no enthusiasm to actually play the game! Thus it's going up for sale on eBay to clear the decks and I have another small railway project in mind next. What I hope is that it will sell to a gamer who will really enjoy owning this unique set up and enjoy playing it.

I'll leave the eBay link below where I'm asking just £150.00 plus shipping. This a very reasonable price taking into account all of the miniatures plus the printed C&C mat and the terrain items, dice set etc. The link to the printable rules/ cards etc can be found on Tony's blog link below where its a FREE download so everything you need to unpack and play the game. I'd be happy to paint additional troop bases for the new owner at just £15.00 per base of foot or horse if required for bigger games. I'll probably use trusted and reliable FedEx shipping which is about £10.00 within UK or around £30.00 to USA.

Finally, please be kind in the comments, I know some will think I'm mad but for me the pleasure has been in the planning and bringing to fruition an idea that presented a bit of an interesting challenge and now I will move on. Any questions you can contact me at : lgramson@yahoo.com

Cheers,

Lee.

Finally, a few photos of what's on offer.

  1. Hi Lee, not a surprise at all to those of us who have followed the blog for years :-) and it is perfectly in keeping with your 90% painter and 10% gamer perspective. I'm sure you will get a quick response, it has been a lovely project to follow and partly responsible for what I am doing with some Epic Napoleonics.

    1. Thank you Norm, you know me well enough by now :) They have now sold to a guy who saw the link from my blog. I hope we can get to see some pics of your DBN project in due course.
      Cheers

  2. After all that hard work, its quite sad Lee. But I must admit, if I had the dosh and hadn't spent it all at Partizan, I'd have bid for them.

  4. No surprise at all... but why worry, it's been clear to us who've followed you for years that its the project/collecting phase, the painting, the building of the collection that you really enjoy.. and long may it continue! 😊

  6. I'm the chap who saw the link (mentioned in the reply to Norm's comment). Long time lurker and first time commenter. Some may know me as the chap who used to maintain a blog for Colonel Bills Wargames Depot (business), sometimes worked the trade stand at shows during 2016 and 2017, and posted adverts on a couple of forums.

All safely arrived shortly after this lunch time.
Thank you for the excellent packaging work and the time and care taken to safely ship the items.
I have to admit I hadn't realised that there was 13 units of infantry, so a happy surprise.
The work you've done in converting, painting and basing is definitely praise worthy (if it helps potential customers to read).

Many thanks for the opportunity to purchase these from you.

    1. Thanks so much for letting me know all arrived in good order and sorry for the mountain of bubble wrap but better safe than sorry!

Just to say Roy that if you should need any additional units for the game I could do them for you at £12.50 per base of horse or foot, cut down, painted and fully based as I do have a few sprues left here I could use. Enjoy the game and you probably know the link to Tony's excellent C&C ECW rules on his Prometheus in Aspic blog.

      All the best,

      Lee.

      Hello Lee,

I will take you up on that offer, please, if you're still happy to paint up some more units? I will email you to discuss.

As to the rules, although I may still look at Command and Colors in the future, I'm actually pursuing playing these with (To The Strongest!) For King and Parliament rules, from Big Red Bat. The chaps at the North Riding Group play a lot of TtS! (Ancients) and I've played the odd game or two. The square gridded playing area is something my neuro-divergent brain finds easy to work with. Hexes being an unknown quantity at present, so I'll put the gaming mat aside for now.
Since I normally play solo, CS Grant's programmed wargames scenarios (book) will be used, as written or as inspiration, as well as numerous bolted-on solo mechanics from numerous gamers and myself.

      Cheers,
      Roy

    3. Hi Roy,

No problem, just let me know when you are ready. I have a lot of the cavalry left here on the sprues and some foot so shame to waste them!
Fully understand the hex rules won't suit everyone but as you say the figures can be used with many other sets. Glad they will be put to good use.
      Cheers,
      Lee.
