I have been finding it difficult to take decent photos of these little guys recently, being generally unhappy with the pics in previous posts. I have now found that taking the phots on a green base gives a better representation of the colours and the general finish.
Today I'll be painting base of British 10th Hussars, selected because of the link back to my Airfiix days, whoever would have thought that the Epics are turning out to be a project based heavily upon nostalgia? I'm not going overboard on these figures limiting the paint job to a good wargaming standard and I'm happy with that.
Still keeping busy on the commission painting front with figures in hand for John, Graham, Simon and Tony. but I'm managing to get some Epics in most days now.

That's very kind of you Bob, thank you. I have a number of Prussian sprues put away for later but one can never have too many Landwehr and it's a very useful sprue. I will email you.

DeleteI can see why you like the Epic figures so much, they are nice and you seem to have cracked a way to paint up large numbers at speed. Unfortunately I have Napoleonics in 3 scales already, another scale would see me in the mad-house.

The Epic Napoleonics seems to have been a huge success for warlord and I wonder where this will go in the future, I can imagine long lines of shoulder to shoulder Roman Legionaries for example. It struck me how they contrast with what we have got used to seeing over the years, regiments based up in loose files.
DeleteI suspect the problem with other periods is that they are either less popular or too diverse (Ancients definitely falls into the latter category) to be commercially viable, although TYW/ECW and related conflicts might be viable. Personally I'd like to see a Crimean War range but there's little chance of that.
DeleteI could see it working for the AWI, a very popular period and perfect for Epic with limited troop types.
